Huawei will soon sell “its” fascinating electric cars in Europe

Associated with several automobile manufacturers, Huawei will soon market its electric cars in Europe via the Changan Deepal brand. The first copies could then arrive here in the coming months, and why not in 2024.

While the sale of thermal cars will be banned from 2035 in Europe, this represents a tremendous opportunity for Chinese manufacturers. Many of them are in fact banking on electric vehicles to find a place in our market over the coming years. This is already the case for some like MG, BYD or even Nio and Xpeng.

Arrival soon

But, the latter are not the only ones wanting to grab market share from manufacturers already well established here. And for good reason, other new additions are also preparing to make their debut on the Old Continent, to the great dismay of Brussels. Among them, let us cite among others the Chery group via its Exeed brand as well as the Changan. If the latter is still little known, it should not take long for him to be talked about.

And for good reason, the Chinese company owns several brands, including Deepal, currently only sold in China. The latter recently lifted the veil on its S7, which bears the same name as the new Luxeed sedan just presented. But this is a high-end SUV, which could soon make its way to Europe. In any case, that’s what the site says. Car News Chinawhich relays the words of Deng Chenghao.

This is the CEO of the Chinese brand, who recently gave information on the future of the latter, on the occasion of the ceremony marking his arrival in Thailand. The businessman announces that Deepal plans to continue its international development with an objective of 450,000 electric cars sold worldwide by next year.

A very ambitious goal, which will undoubtedly be made possible by an arrival on the European market, probably over the next few months. Although for the moment, no specific date has been announced. However, we know that the manufacturer does not plan to be idle, since its parent company Changan plans the launch of two new models from next year.

Which cars in Europe?

But at present, we still know nothing about the two cars planned by the Chinese firm. So what should we expect for the European market with the arrival of Deepal? Well first of all, there is no doubt that the S7 SUV will be there, allowing it to better compete with the Tesla Model Y. For the record, the latter is co-designed with the tech giant Huawei, as part of a joint venture established with the battery supplier CATL.

But that’s not all, because other Changan Group brands could also make their way here. This could for example be the case of Avatr, another young manufacturer co-created with Huawei and CATL and which has already launched no less than two models, namely the Avatr 11 and 12. Enough again to hunt on the lands of Tesla, but also of BYD, among others. We also know that Avatr will launch its electric cars in Europe.

Should we also expect to see the adorable little Lumin arrive here, unveiled in October and rivaling the Dacia Spring? This is entirely possible, as the market for affordable city cars is booming. This would notably hunt in the lands of the new Citroën ë-C3 and the future Renault Twingo Legend recently unveiled.

For the record, Changan has also partnered with the Chinese manufacturer
