huge announcements coming soon? This is confirmed

After its first State of Play of the year in January, PlayStation could still host a big live event soon, with highly anticipated announcements for the PS5.

In any case, this is what dear Jeff Grubb prophesied. The prospect of a PlayStation Showcase or a State of Play soon is, however, very plausible, given the group’s recent news and its schedule in this area last year. PS5 players should therefore have some exciting news to come.

PlayStation soon back live to spoil PS5 players?

At the end of January, the first State of Play of the year was held to present the big games from the PlayStation teams coming to PS5 and PS VR2. Among its strong announcements, we had combat gameplay from Silent Hill 2 Remake (a choice that surprised a lot of people). We were also treated to in-depth presentations around Death Stranding 2, Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade. As we enter the second quarter of 2024, a new live presentation like a PlayStation Showcase could soon be held.

More specifically, this could happen sometime next month, according to Jeff Grubb. As a reminder, a PlayStation Showcase was held the same month last year. What’s more, Silent Hill 2 Remake has recently received several age ratings, a sign of a very upcoming release on PS5 and PC. This next event in Sony’s gaming branch would therefore be the ideal opportunity to go all out on this anticipated title. This would also allow Konami and Bloober Team to catch up with the last trailer presented. In addition to a more complete gameplay video, we should also know the release date.

What else can you expect from the event?

The May 2023 PlayStation Showcase lasted more than an hour and highlighted more than 30 games expected on PS5 and PS VR2, as well as Portal. Could Sony intend to invite us to a live event of a similar scale next month? The Japanese giant could thus take advantage of this to reassure fans. Apart from FF7 Rebirth and Stellar Blade at the start of the year, the next big exclusive cartridges still seem far away.

Among the biggest games coming this year under his supervision, we have, in addition to Silent Hill 2 Remake, Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake and Concord, a new multi FPS. 2025 could be a strong year for PlayStation, with Marvel’s Wolverine, Bungie’s return of Marathon, and Phantom Blade Zero. We are also not safe from a presentation of other new games not yet announced, the famous “WORLD PREMIERES”. Since the Portal was presented last May, we could also have news, let’s be crazy, of a certain PS5 Pro? All of this must obviously be taken with a grain of salt.
