This star says goodbye to Marvel
As reported by the renowned media Deadline, actress Ayo Edebiri is leaving the Thunderbolts film project and will be replaced by the equally talented Geraldine Viswanathan. For those who don’t know her, Ayo Edebiri is an American actress, comedian, screenwriter and producer known for her versatility in the entertainment industry. She is famous for her role as Sydney Adamu in the series The Bear, which has been broadcast since 2022. Additionally, she has lent her voice to Missy Foreman-Greenwald in Big Mouth since 2020 and has starred in series such as Dickinson, The Premise and Abbott Elementary.
Additionally, she has written for shows such as What We Do in the Shadows and The Eric Andre Show. She was notably nominated for the Gotham Independent Film Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards for her performance in The Bear. Very recently, she even won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a TV Series for the same work…
Finally, the young woman is particularly appreciated for her sense of humor. Marvel must therefore do without a talented artist. For her part, Geraldine Viswanathan is famous for her starring role in the film Parental Control, where she shared the screen with none other than John Cena, an actor who excels in both lines and wrestling holds. The reason for this replacement seems to be linked to a scheduling problem, without any apparent controversy. Who knows, maybe we’ll have the chance to see Ayo Edebiri again in a future Marvel project?
Thunderbolts: a big upcoming film
The Thunderbolts movie is a new addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is generating a lot of interest. This film will introduce the Thunderbolts team, known in Marvel comics as a ragtag group of repentant anti-heroes and supervillains. These characters work together to carry out missions, often under the direction or approval of the government. Although the concept shares some similarities with the Suicide Squad of the DC Comics universe, the two universes feature distinct tones and narratives. What is certain is that Marvel is banking a lot on it, with the notable presence of a certain Harrison Ford.
This is not the first time that an actor has left the project, since Steven Yeun (known for The Walking Dead and Nope) who was to play Sentry is also no longer part of it.
