  • A massive winter storm has hit the Midwest and other states in the United States.
  • In the states of Michigan and Wisconsin alone, over 250,000 people are without electricity.
  • Because of the icy winds and snow flurries, more than 2,200 flights were canceled across the country and more than 7,600 were delayed.

Especially at the important Chicago O’Hare airport, the planes remained grounded due to heavy snowstorms.

In the state of Iowa, where the starting shot for the presidential nomination will be fired on Monday, several campaign events were canceled.

New storm brings bitter cold

The authorities are warning of another strong storm with temperatures of minus 30 to minus 40 degrees.

A flood warning is in effect for around 35 million people in the eastern United States. Authorities are warning of a tornado in the south.
