Hunger Games the prequel: a star of Euphoria in the cast

Hunter Schafer (Jules in Euphoria) to star as Tigris Snow, Coriolanus’ cousin in The Hunger Games prequel: The Ballad of the Serpent and the Songbird

From Euphoria to Hunger Games: The Ballad of the Serpent and the Songbird…

Hunter Schafer, who lends his features to Jules in the hit series Euphoria, will take his first steps in the cinema by playing Tigris Snow in the prequel to Hunger Games.

In Suzanne Collins’ novel, Tigris is Coriolanus Snow’s cousin. She is the confidante and adviser of the future President of Panem (Donald Sutherland in the mother saga).

The character also appears in Hunger Games: Revolt part 2, this former stylist of the games runs a shop at the Capitol, her face is painted like a tigress and is then interpreted by Eugenie Bondurant.

Hunger Games: The Ballad of the Serpent and the Songbird centers on the youth of Coriolanus Snow, played here by Tom Blyth. The 18-year-old is the last hope of his bloodline, a once-proud family that has fallen out of favor in the post-war Capitol.

With the tenth edition of The Hunger Games fast approaching, he is given the role of mentor to the tribute of District 12 (district where Katniss will come from 64 years later), Lucy Gray Baird (played by Rachel Zegler, seen in West Side Story).

After Lucy catches the attention of all Panem by singing during the harvest ceremony, Coriolanus thinks he can get into the Capitol’s small papers and tip the scales in their favor. Snow and Lucy’s race against time to survive will reveal who is the songbird and who is the snake…

The prequel is directed by Francis Lawrence, to whom we owe the last three films of the Hunger Games franchise. Hunter Schafer, Tom Blyth and Rachel Zegler will be surrounded by young recruits Nick Benson, Laurel Marsden, Jerome Lance, Lily Cooper and Knox Gibson.

The feature film will be released in our theaters in November 2023.
