Hydro: start of a strike in Norway

(CercleFinance.com) – Norsk Hydro announces that a strike at its Norwegian site of Hydro Sunndal, announced on August 16, has started today, and that the agreement to slow down aluminum production at this plant will therefore be implemented.

The strike will initially lead to a gradual reduction of 20% in production over four weeks. It also involves stopping product deliveries to customers for the duration of the labor dispute.

If the latter extends beyond four weeks, Norsk Hydro plans further production cuts at a rate of 10% each week, until a section of the production line is maintained.
