We have known for some time that CreativeAssembly (Total War, Alien: Isolation) is working on a new license. He has since clarified that it would be a FPS tactic in a universe of science fiction, tinged with reference to the licenses of SEGA. It is now time for the revelation, that of a game which will be called HYENAS.
It will be a multiplayer shooting game in PvPvE, with up to 3 teams of 5 players in the same game. We will embody it them HYENAlooters who will break into space freighters to recover as many “artifacts from pop culture” as possible, valuable Earth commodity. From Rubik’s Cube on the key ring sonicthere should be sacred easter eggs. the gameplay hasn’t been shown yet, but it will revolve around battles in zero gravity, with AI-led security forces putting a spoke in our wheels, all in an artistic atmosphere not unlike the productions of Sony Pictures Animation.
The Earth is no more. The wealthy have colonized Mars and the rest of humanity is doomed to a life of misery in a giant orbiting slum, the Pit. While humanity struggles for survival, the billionaires of Mars have other concerns and seek to fulfill their nostalgic dreams. To satisfy their desires, they use freighters, gigantic commercial spaceships intended for the sale of artifacts from pop culture recovered on Earth, OUR artifacts, at astronomical prices.
We are a quirky pack of talented raiders, and we hit Mars’ elite where it hurts the most: their business, which is OUR business. They call us “HYENAS”.
We enter, we empty a few cartridges in their security clones and other “preventive measures”, we steal their most beautiful objects and we leave. Exploding a clone in zero gravity is a mess, but as long as you manage to leave with the goods, it’s worth it.

HYENAS will be released in 2023 on PC via Steam and theEpic Games Store, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and its content will evolve after release, both in terms of playable characters and levels. The most curious can already register for a future alphafor which a FAQ including in particular the required configurations on personal computers has been unveiled.
