“I always wear my wedding ring”, she confides in her private life since Johnny’s death

In the 90s, the story of Johnny and Laeticia began when the young woman was barely 19 years old. The disappearance of Taulier on December 5, 2017 could have put an end to this saga, but the singer persists in the heart of his beloved.

Six years have passed since the disappearance of Taulier, taken away by illness. However, far from fading, his artistic imprint remains alive and throbbing in the hearts of his admirers. Laeticia Hallyday, faithful guardian of the memory of her great love, orchestrates an ambitious project to celebrate and perpetuate the legacy of Johnny Hallyday. The “Johnny Hallyday” exhibition, installed at Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles, offers an immersive dive into the captivating world of the artist. Fans have the opportunity to relive the intense and memorable moments of his exceptional career. But for Laeticia, it’s just a step.

Laeticia is currently working on the creation of a Johnny Hallyday music school, an establishment which, according to her statements on BFMTV, will be located “in France but not in Paris”. The stated objective is to continue to transmit Johnny’s music and work while providing an opportunity for young artists to learn and enrich themselves with different musical cultures. A project which, in his words, will see the light of day “soon”, even if the details have yet to be revealed. Also on the horizon is a commemorative musical, planned to mark the tenth anniversary of the singer’s death in 2027.

Between literary project and personal quest

Beyond her inspiring professional projects, Laeticia Hallyday’s intimate life is part of a complex web of feelings and aspirations. After past stories with Pascal Balland and Jalil Lespert, she begins a new chapter with the writer Simon Liberati. Their meeting, facilitated by the publishing house Stock, gave birth to an exceptional collaboration on an autobiography planned for 2025. Simon Liberati, sultry writer and winner of the 2022 Renaudot Prize for his novel “Performance”, plays a central role in Laeticia’s current life. In a recent interview with La Tribune Dimanche, she shared that this collaboration acts like personal “therapy”. The autobiography, in progress, offers a unique opportunity to revisit and share the intimate parts of his life, while testifying to his close bond with Johnny Hallyday.

However, amidst these new horizons, Johnny’s lingering shadow is still felt. Laeticia confesses that Johnny did not “give her his blessing to start her life again”. Poignant statements that reveal the complexity of his emotional journey. She always wears her wedding ring, calls Johnny “my husband”, and admits to having difficulty projecting herself into new relationships. Nonetheless, she shares that her relationship with Simon Liberati is a positive and therapeutic experience. While 2025 is shaping up to be the year of the autobiography’s release, the question remains: will this literary collaboration with Simon Liberati allow Laeticia to turn the page and free herself from the emotional bond that persists beyond of death ?
