She smartphone is his combat weapon, the objective of which has joined his own: that of filming the war face to face. Since the beginning of the war, the researcher Maria Avdeeva decided to stay in the devastated city of Kharkiv, in the east of the country, which lives to the rhythm of the night bombardments. Far from her family who fled this martyred city, and having relocated her bedroom in the hallway of her apartment, the security and information science expert at the NGO European Expert Association remains to “document war crimes”. While in very cold weather, the battery of her phone does not last more than two hours, she shares videos on Twitter that she sometimes punctuates with a V for victory. A lesson in courage.
