In an interview with Porter magazine, actress Amanda Seyfried opened up about her film debut. She spoke in particular of the pressure that pushed her to shoot intimate scenes when she was only 19 years old.
At 36, Amanda Seyfried already has a long career behind her. The American actress started modeling when she was only 11 years old, before starting a career as an actress, appearing in several television series and then in the cinema. She was thus discovered in 2004 in the comedy Lolita in spite of me, alongside Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams and Lacey Chabert. Amanda Seyfried then chained the roles, and appeared in particular in the films Mamma Mia!, Chloé, Les Miserables or even Ted 2. And viewers have recently been able to find her on television since the actress has taken on the role of Elizabeth Holmes in The Dropouta mini-series broadcast on Disney+ in France.
In an interview with Porter magazine, the actress confided in her beginnings and notably returned to the pressure she suffered to shoot nude scenes when she was only 19 years old.
Amanda Seyfried: “How could I let this happen?”
Amanda Seyfried has explained in particular that she would have liked there to be coordinators of intimacy on the set when she started in the cinema, because she has already found herself very embarrassed by certain situations. “Being 19, walking around without my underwear on, are you kidding me? How could I let this happen? “Oh yes, wait, I know why: I was 19 and I didn’t want to upset anyone, I didn’t want to lose my job. That’s why”she let go.
But since then, Amanda Seyfried has come a long way, and now feels respected for her work, as she told Porter. “There is a level of respect that I have never felt around me so much. It has nothing to do with fame or recognition (…) I am respected because I am 36 years old and I know who I am”she concluded.
