“I have a lot more fun making video games and animation”: meeting with the French voice of Professor Layton

10 years after the release of the last game in the franchise, Professor Layton is back for a brand new gaming project! On this occasion, Voix Ouf met Martial Le Minoux, French voice of the famous British gentleman.

His voice marked a whole generation of gamers and puzzle enthusiasts. And after six games and a film released between 2007 and 2013, Martial Le Minoux will soon be back on one of the most emblematic characters in video games: Professor Hershel Layton.

Announced this month of February 2023 during the Nintendo Direct, through a teaser, a new game called “Professor Layton and the New World of Steam” is indeed under development, ten years after the last appearance of the famous archaeologist.

For the occasion, Voix Ouf met the formidable actor Martial Le Minoux. With an impressive range of games and able to modulate his voice as he sees fit, he is not only known for his work on Layton. He talks with us about his other cult voice acting roles, from Roy Mustang in Fullmetal Alchemist to Clank in Ratchet & Clank, Justin Hartley in Smallville, and his love for voice crafting with Lastman!

And as usual, our guest will take up two challenges: our quiz on different roles of his voxography, as well as our Darbox and his popular lines!

While waiting to find him on Professor Layton when the game is released, you can hear him on the French animated film Mars Express, written by Jérémie Périn and Laurent Sarfati, which should be released in our cinemas sometime in the year 2023.

And as Richard Aldana would say, “Hello co***rds!”
