A dismal failure at the box office with only $91 million collected at the international box office (and only $40 million at the US box office) since its theatrical release on February 14, Madame Web, the new Sony superhero film /Marvel manages to do worse than Morbius.
With a start of $15 million for its first weekend in theaters compared to 39 million greenbacks for the film directed by Jared Leto, Madame Web is one of the biggest flops in the history of adapted films of comics.

But this disenchantment from the public (the film is rated 1.7 stars on AlloCiné), and from critics who give it a score of 12% on Rotten Tomatoes and an average press rating of 1.3 on AlloCiné, does not seem to surprise the actresses.
During the last broadcast of Saturday Night LiveSydney Sweeney who plays Julia Carpenter, one of the heroines of the film, also denied the feature film in her presentation: “You’ve probably seen me in Everything except you And Euphoriabut you’ve never seen me in Madame Web…“
