“I think if most critics knew how much what they say hurts the people who are concerned, they would think twice before writing”declares Seth Rogen at the microphone of the podcast Diary of a CEOin remarks reported by Deadline.
“It’s devastating. I know people who honestly never get over it. It can hurt for years, decades.”
“It’s very personal…It’s devastating when you’re told, in a public way, that your self-expression was wrong”continues the actor of 40 years. “It’s something that people carry with them, literally, their entire lives. And I understand why. It really sucks.”
To illustrate his point, Seth Rogen then evokes The Green Hornet, Michel Gondry’s film in which he plays the character of the Green Hornet and which had been recently received by the press. “The reviews were very bad. People hated the movie. It seemed like people took pleasure in hating”notes the actor.
