“I wanted to live another adventure, I was always extremely motivated”, he explains on Europe 1. “I spoke a lot with what are called the high dignitaries of Europe 1. They m ‘convinced. I was happy to find some friends that I have known for a long time, including Philippe Vandel and Christophe Hondelatte. In any case, I wanted to play this new match. things, podcasts, etc. “

“Europe 1 convinced me”

Jacques Vendroux thus leaves Radio France, where he was less present lately. “For 53 years, I was almost all the time on the antennas of Franceinfo and France Inter. And, the last two years, they only called on me if they needed me,” he says. “So I thought it was good to leave. But if I’m at Europe 1 today, it’s also thanks to Radio France, so I’m not going to spit in the soup.”

“In this kind of situation, those who are convincing win. And Europe 1 has convinced me,” he continues. “Europe 1 was also the radio station of my parents and my grandparents. I was brought up with the great voices of Europe 1. So I am coming back to my culture.”

On Europe 1, Jacques Vendroux will cover the World Cup in Qatar in 2022, his 14th as a sports journalist. “It’s a lot. But when you have the passion, ‘the urge to want’, nothing bad can happen to you,” he smiles. “I can say it now: we’ve been talking to each other for a month.
