I will go to sleep with you: why Antoine de Maximy was arrested twice by the police

Antoine de Maximy is on the road again. In his new episode “I will go to sleep with you”, we indeed discover that he flew to Côte d’Ivoire. An extraordinary trip that he had been waiting for for a long time. “Côte d’Ivoire is a country that attracts me. I have the impression that everything is going well here (…) I told myself that I was going to meet people to find out how things are going. “ he explained at the start of the program broadcast on RMC Découverte. And if his trip got off to a flying start, Antoine de Maximy had two misadventures since he was arrested by the police. The first time, the globetrotter was put on the side of the road for not wearing a helmet on a scooter. “No one wears a helmet” he defended himself after the officer. After taking a fine, he therefore went to a store to buy protection.

Only then, a few minutes after getting back on the road, Antoine de Maximy was again arrested. In question ? He took a wrong way. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know otherwise I wouldn’t have done it” he said. If he did not see a “no entry” sign, it is because in Côte d’Ivoire flights are frequent. “At night people take them off. So we are present at every crossroads” a policeman explained to him before telling him that he had to pay the sum of 12,000 CFA francs, or a little less than 19 euros. Luckily, the latter then offered to negotiate the price, which is commonplace in Africa. Antoine de Maximy then paid 5,000 fcfa. Adventures that made him laugh in the end.
