IBM wants to increase the performance of its generative AI platform, WatsonX

IBM plans to use the acquisition to increase the performance of its generative AI platform, WatsonX, and expand its customer support, including making data entry easier and more secure.

  • Streamset is a cloud-based DevOps and data collection platform. It helps organizations gain consistent access to data, across a wide range of sources and data types. It also simplifies data pipeline design and real-time and batch data collection.
  • WebMethods, acquired in 2007 by Sorftware AG, is a unified API management platform. Deployed both on-premises and in the cloud, the unified platform offers B2B integration, managed file transfer and a modern API gateway to manage, monitor and monetize APIs.

IBM specifies that the operation is subject to the approval of regulatory authorities and that it should be finalized in the second quarter of 2024.

“This announcement marks the beginning of providing our customers and partners with one of the most modern and comprehensive application and data integration platforms,” said Rob Thomas, senior vice president and chief commercial officer. , SW, IBM. “IBM products, including Watson AI and Data Platform, as well as StreamSet and WebMethods, help clients unlock the full potential of their applications and data. This combination will enable them to transform their businesses with AI, regardless of where their applications or data resides.”

In its latest Magic Quadrant dedicated to iPaaS offerings, Gartner recognizes that it is becoming difficult to distinguish between data integration tools, RPA platforms and even API management services. And for good reason: all these offers sometimes become one.
