Ice hockey hit – record champions KAC ended the Haie’s winning streak

After five successes in a row, Innsbruck’s Cracks had to admit defeat to league leaders Klagenfurt narrowly 2:3 in front of 2,500 fans on Tuesday, but remain in the top six. The Tyroleans continue with an away double. On Friday they play in Graz and on Saturday at the Vienna Capitals.

On the one hand, a team that has won the last five games (Haie). On the other hand, a team that celebrated nine wins in the last twelve rounds (KAC). The big hit in the ICE promised a lot. KAC started impressively and maintained its pace and intensity. In addition, the league leader from Klagenfurt quickly made it clear in the TIWAG Arena what he intended to do: to undermine the Haie’s defense with structured and self-confident attacks. The only thing that was missing in the first third from the Carinthians’ perspective: the top chances. Only once did a “red jacket” in the person of Postma appear alone in front of Evan Buitenhuis – but the Innsbruck keeper made an excellent save (10th). The conversation increased even more in the second half. And the guests deservedly took the lead with a long-overdue goal by Herburger (after Haudum-Pass/22′). Sharks turned the game around But the Sharks – even if they were inferior in terms of play – remained calm. Out of the blue, Senna Peeters equalized with a backhand into the top corner and made a recommendation to the KAC, who were interested in him (1:1/37.); After Herburger missed the empty Tyrolean goal, Nathan Halbert scored in return to make it 2-1 (40th). The game was turned on its head with a shooting ratio of 16:7 for the Carinthians. KAC scored the victory when they were outnumbered. But in the last section, the record champions quickly put their ice hockey world back in perspective: Jensen Aabo equalized in the first power play (Ludin in the cool box) made it 2-2 (45th), Bischofberger calmly brought about the turnaround when he was outnumbered (47th). Because in a hot finish, KAC keeper Sebastian Dahm was the winner against Kevin Roy (53rd) and Jan Lattner (56th). ICE HOCKEY LEAGUE: Innsbruck – KAC 2:3 (0:0, 2:1, 0:2 ). Goals: Peeters (37th), Halbert (40th); Herburger (22nd), Jensen Aabo (45th/PP), Bischofberger (47th/SH).
