On the first matchday of the 2024 European Handball Championship there will be a duel between Iceland and Serbia. On Friday, January 12th, the game will be broadcast from the Olympiahalle in Munich. Kick-off is at 8:30 p.m.

The Icelanders are one of the favorites for the first two places in Group C. With professionals from Germany, Hungary and the domestic league, among others, they have a powerful team. Coach Guomundur Thordur Gudmundsson’s team is the favorite against Serbia. They qualified for the European Championships as second in their group behind Norway. They also have some professionals from the HBL in their ranks, but are rather inferior to the Icelanders in terms of play.

You can watch today’s group game for free in the ARD Sportschau live stream. Unfortunately, ARD has no plans to broadcast it on TV.
