“If Gaza burns, Berlin burns”
Pro-Gaza slogans and fire in Berlin’s citizens’ office

Is there a connection? There is a fire in the Berlin Citizens’ Office during the night – at the same time, pro-Palestinian slogans are smeared on the walls. “Warn Berlin, we’ll let it burn,” is one of them. According to a report, perpetrators are said to have threatened further arson attacks.
A fire broke out in the citizens’ office in Berlin-Moabit during the night – the police are investigating possible arson. Unidentified people sprayed pro-Palestinian slogans on the walls of the building, like the police announced. It is still unclear whether there is a connection to the fire.
The fire department responded to the fire in the administration building with around 30 emergency services that night, as they announced on Platform X. Furniture burned. However, the flames were quickly extinguished and further spread was prevented. Nobody got hurt. The Police State Security of the State Criminal Police Office has taken over the further investigation.
Shortly before 2 a.m., a resident heard the sounds of clinking glass and then discovered the fire in a room on the ground floor of the town hall. The witness saw two people fleeing.
As the police confirmed to ntv.de, the graffiti on the walls of the citizens’ office read, among other things: “If Gaza burns, Berlin burns” and “Warning Berlin, we let it burn.” The “BZ” also reports on the slogans “Free Gaza” and “Free Hamas” that were daubed on the walls. According to the report, the lettering appeared to be fresh and still smelled of paint. Initial findings indicate a Molotov cocktail, although the police did not want to confirm this. The newspaper report also states that the perpetrators threatened further arson attacks in Berlin.
