“If you let him”, the host’s terrible revelations of sexual assault

Revelations keep coming and new controversies arise almost daily. Indeed, after Macha Méril crushed the director François Truffaut on Wednesday March 6, it is the turn of Marie Portolano to reveal that she was victim of sexual assault being younger. The star host of Telematin confides at length in an autobiography entitled I’m the woman on set to be discovered in its entirety from March 14, and already lifts the veil on the subject of the trauma she experienced when she was only 17 years.

She speaks in the magazine SHE to denounce these facts and challenge the younger generation of women, to warn them against their men who could be led to harm them. “I hadn’t told anyone about itnot even to my family, and I only mention it in the book, but that probably explains why I am so sensitive to violence against women”explains the mother of two boys, before explaining her motivations for telling her story: “This book is also so that this anger that is in me is turned towards something useful”.

Marie Portolano marked for life?

Marie Portolano gives the chilling account of sexual assault which she intends to bring to the attention of as many people as possible. She particularly remembers the inappropriate gesture from one of his colleagues. “He pulled, in front of everyone, on my sweater to see if my breasts had grown: I remained paralyzed. The worst part was that I was the one who got yelled at by my boss, who told me criticized for not having reacted strongly enough: ‘If you let him, don’t be surprised if you get in trouble.‘”she recalled, while explaining that, ultimately, the work I’m the woman on set had acted as a sort of therapy for her.

Indeed, by writing the lines of her autobiography, Marie Portolano would have understood why, “very young”she has “started countless bar fights”. “I was worse than a guy! Television corrupted by different affairs

These new, terrible revelations are reminiscent of the words of Judith Godreche who recently denounced a controlling relationship with director Benoit Jacquot when she was a minor at the very end of the 1980s, before filing a complaint against him and finally accusing Jacques Doillon in turn of having abused her. The actress who is at the origin of a veritable media storm which further fragments the world of cinema, already marked by the investigations targeting Gérard Depardieu, also echoed this phenomenon thanks to a highly anticipated speech at the 2024 Césars last month.

It is therefore not only the Seventh Art which is concerned by these acts of sexual assault, and even rape sometimes; the behavior of certain television stars is in turn denounced. Not long ago, the host Cauet found himself in turmoil, before in turn the psychoanalyst Gérard Miller was forced to defend himself after several women discussed the details of certain hypnosis sessions… Both will have to face justice!
