Recently available, the new beta version of iOS 17.3 seems to cause some serious problems.
A few hours ago, Apple put the second beta of iOS 17.3 online, inviting users who wish to test, in preview, this new update. As always, installation is done at everyone’s own risk, and we must admit that this version suffers from a serious bug.
Do not install the new iOS 17.3 beta!
Indeed, whether you are a developer or a curious tester, the second beta of iOS 17.3 allows you to taste the new features to come, before the official launch of the update. However, many users have reported a particularly annoying bug after installing the beta, which causes iPhones to crash.
Indeed, for many users, the same problem, namely an iPhone stuck in its reboot process, which therefore displays the Apple logo and the loading wheel uninterruptedly. It is therefore impossible for the user to use their smartphone, since it crashes when restarting.
Apple withdraws the update from its servers
Even though the problem concerns iPhones of all generations, the bug does not appear in 100% of cases. Fortunately, in case of problems, there is a way to revert to the previous beta. To do this, you must switch your iPhone to recovery mode (DFU), and restore the smartphone from a Mac or PC.
Still, the problem seems serious enough for Apple to decide… to withdraw the update from its servers. In all likelihood, Apple will quickly review its copy, and rid (we hope) this new iOS 17.3 of this bug, before relaunching a new beta version.
The opportunity to remind you for the umpteenth time that although installing beta versions allows you to benefit, in preview, from certain functionalities, the procedure is not without risk, and can sometimes lead to serious malfunctions. At your peril…
