Philips attacks the IFA as it should with a series of announcements. In addition to TVs and soundbars, the manufacturer has focused on headsets with two bone condition models, the A7607 and K4607, and the H8507, a Bluetooth model with a gooseneck mic.

We weren’t expecting Philips in this field, but it is clear that the opportunity was too good for the manufacturer: the boom in teleworking caused by the pandemic has in fact decided Philips to position itself with a headset that would also be comfortable with calls at home than with on-the-go listening. Here is the H8507, a “hybrid” Bluetooth headset with a detachable gooseneck microphone that can be connected to two devices simultaneously. The manufacturer also accompanies it with a Bluetooth USB dongle to facilitate communication with a computer.
This H8507, which will also play in the same league as the equivalent models from Plantronics or Jabra, great professionals in the field, has an active noise reduction function to optimize insulation both at home and at work. outside. The headphones promise a very solid duration of use per charge, of around 55 hours, Philips not specifying however whether this data is obtained with the active noise reduction permanently engaged. Audio reproduction is provided by two 40mm speakers, promising “high quality, rich and clear sound”. The H8507 is marketed at a price of 230 €.

In a completely different style, Philips has also filled its catalog with two models of bone conduction headphones, one cut for sports practice, the other more atypical, because it is specially dedicated to children. The first, baptized A7607, benefits from a robust design that is splash-proof and moisture-proof (IP66 certification) and incorporates a red LED headband on the neckband to maximize visibility for outdoor sports practice. This headset includes a hands-free kit supported by a bone conduction sensor which should on paper improve call quality, even in noisy environments. Autonomy is announced at 9 a.m., with recharging being carried out via a magnetic base provided.
The K4607 is aimed at a young audience. Its claims are therefore more humble, in particular with a duration of use which could exceed 5 hours after a full charge. Philips specifies that its model has an integrated volume limiter in order to preserve the hearing of young music lovers and that a remote control function is available thanks to a mobile application, without saying more unfortunately.
The K4607 will arrive in November 2022 at a price of €100, a fairly high price compared to the average asking price for a “conventional” model of headphones designed for children.
