Samsung is taking advantage of IFA 2022 to announce new energy-saving goals for its home appliances. Artificial intelligence and the connected experience are at the center of this experience.
A few days before the start of IFA 2022, Samsung is preparing the ground and announces that it is working on “creating the ultimate sustainable home experience”. The South Korean manufacturer intends to combine connectivity, based on SmartThingswith technologies for improving energy efficiency, to bring household appliances to the market that are both connected and sustainable.
And the least we can say is that Samsung is not hiding. “We plan to become the #1 brand in energy efficiency”, aims the multinational. To do this, it does not only rely on suitable hardware, but also on intelligent control features that will allow users to reduce the energy consumption of products.
Samsung relies on connected appliances to save energy
One of the tools put in place by Samsung to achieve its objectives is SmartThings Energy, which monitors the energy consumption of connected home appliances. This platform is also capable of automatically activating an energy mode managed by artificial intelligence if deemed necessary. With this option, the settings are defined to find a balance between user needs and energy consumption.
Samsung tells us that “by the end of next year, almost all home appliances will be Wi-Fi enabled, allowing consumers to continuously reduce their energy consumption with ease”. The brand specifies that in the future, this Wi-Fi compatibility will allow all its household appliances to embed energy saving functions based on AI.
For more environmentally friendly products, Samsung is also developing processes to reduce the use of microplastics in its products. Projects have also been launched to reduce CO2 emissions and develop homes that can generate their own energyalways with SmartThings Energy at the center of the experience.
