IFA 2022 – TCL presents the NXTwear S, third version of its pair of connected glasses

At a press conference ahead of IFA Berlin, TCL announced a new version of its NXTwear connected glasses. A third model that looks like the NXTwear Air presented at CES 2022, but with some practical additions.

The Chinese company TCL held a big press conference ahead of the opening of the IFA in Berlin. The opportunity to unveil the new products that will be launched in the coming months and some futuristic objects, such as its connected glasses from the NXTwear range.

TCL’s product is already in its third version and unfortunately, none has yet seen the light of day in France. The firm seems to take advantage of each show to introduce a new model, without offering it elsewhere than in certain markets that seem quite confidential. For the 2022 IFA, TCL is therefore launching the NXTwear S, a pair that is very similar to the Air model launched at the start of the year. However, it is not strictly identical since the manufacturer announces that it has integrated several new features.

This new version retains the two 1080p micro-Oled screens, as well as the front and corrective lenses of the previous models. Although the firm has not said anything about it, there is a good chance that the glasses will allow a remote display offering the equivalent of a 140-inch image. The sound has been revised with improved speakers in terms of design, which would allow the glasses to offer more precise sound, according to TCL. The frame has been slightly redesigned to be closer to the face and offer increased comfort. A wheel also appears on the right temple. Thanks to it, it is possible to adjust the brightness as well as the passage in 2D/3D mode. A new pin connector has been integrated”for easy connection to smart devices and computers“. It will thus be possible to play on your game console (Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox One), smartphone or tablet, or even use the pair to have fun with your drone.

Contrary to the announcement of the NXTwear Air, TCL confirmed a release in France, but did not mention the price at which the glasses will be sold. On the other hand, the firm says it expects a release during the fourth quarter of 2022 – at the end of the year therefore.
