IFA 2023 – Lenovo Glasses, glasses to accompany the Legion Go console (but not only)

The device was long overdue, and is now official: the Legion Go, the portable console from Lenovo which brings an alternative to the ROG Ally from Asus, makes its debut at IFA 2023. And a less expected accessory accompanies it : glasses, soberly baptized Lenovo Legion Glasses. They are essentially designed to allow players to put down the tablet part of the Go (8.8 inches), and to manipulate only its controllers during their games.

On the technical side, the glasses are composed of two micro-Oled screens each displaying a 1920 x 1080 pixel definition, with a refresh rate of 60 Hz, the lenses can be replaced by corrective lenses if necessary. The Legion Glass do not carry a battery; they are powered by the device they are plugged into via a USB-C cable. It can be the Go of course, but also a computer – no driver is necessary – or a smartphone, as long as it is Display Port over USB-C compatible. The operation works with most terminals (Samsung, for example, but not with Google Pixels).

We tried the accessory, and it is clear that it is a bit heavy – Lenovo was not able to tell us its exact weight – even if the fins at the nose allow it to be worn without too much difficulty. ‘discomfort. Its branches accommodate speakers whose volume can be controlled from the buttons located on its right side, while buttons positioned on the left are dedicated to adjusting the brightness. In front of the eyes, we get a display that does not aim for immersion, but rather gives the impression of looking at a medium-sized monitor.

Lenovo announces the release of its Legion Glasses in October, and will charge its “private” screen around €499, while the Legion Go console itself is announced at €799.
