Remember. In 2019, Miele created a sensation at IFA by unveiling its first stick vacuum to the world: the Triflex HX1. In order to stand out from the competition, the German played the originality card by offering a hybrid model that can be used in two ways. Either by positioning the heavy elements close to the ground to favor maneuverability and lightness (as for a multifunction stick vacuum cleaner), or by placing them close to the wrist of the user, who could then direct the machine in all directions, equipped or not with the suction tube like a stick vacuum cleaner. Alas, this innovation ultimately proved to be rather irrelevant and was not enough to make people forget the sometimes complicated maintenance and inefficient filtration.
The materials seem to be of good quality.
Repeat again in 2023. Miele is taking advantage of the Berlin show to lift the veil on a new stick vacuum cleaner that is much more classic in its architecture. The DuoFlex HX1 is a stick format model only. As such, it requires a wall base to store and recharge. The great originality of the DuoFlex is that it can be removed from this base with its tube and its suction brush for the weekly cleaning session or without these two elements, when it comes to vacuuming the breakfast table in particular ( SpeedLock system).

Apart from this originality, the DuoFlex remains an upright vacuum cleaner with the most classic monocyclonic filtration, even if the manufacturer promises that it knows how to recognize the ground on which it passes and adapt the suction power as well as the speed of the roller in based on the information received. The idea is to preserve the autonomy of the Li-ion battery as much as possible. Indeed, if it grants 55 minutes of autonomy at minimum power without an electrobrush connected, Miele announces an autonomy of only 12 minutes in boost mode, which is very little. Note that no other sensor (such as a particle counter to adapt the energy needs to the dirt on the ground) is in the game.
Good point, Miele seems to have learned from its mistakes on the Triflex HX1 and the collector emptying system seems much more classic on the DuoFlex HX1 than on its predecessor, which required removing the tray from the main body to be emptied. Here, all you have to do is press a button to rotate the hinged bottom and let the dust fall into the bin.

As often with Miele, the Duoflex HX1 will be available in multiple more or less well accessorized packs. The prices should range from 339 € to 499 € for the version best supplied with long and flexible nozzles, and another electric minibrush. For the moment, the availability in France has not been communicated.
