IFA 2023 – Sharp enters the heavyweight category with the SumoBox Pro

Even more massive than the SumoBox, the SumoBox Pro from Sharp (CP-LS200) measures 455 x 690 x 350 mm and is clearly intended for larger rooms and professionals looking for a riot of power.

No surprise, the interest of this SumoBox Pro compared to its little sister lies in its power. To do this, it embeds two 25.5 cm woofers accompanied by two 8 cm tweeters which allow it to spit out up to 108 dB of sound for an RMS power of 200 W. In the same way, it embeds the know-how from Devialet with SAM® (Speaker Active Matching) technology, so as not to sacrifice quality on the altar of power alone.

Of course, it is always possible to pair two SumoBox Pro speakers via Bluetooth to benefit from True Wireless Stereo (TWS) rendering or to connect several speakers in series via dedicated inputs and outputs.

Still so versatile

Obviously, for Sharp, there is no question of making concessions and the Pro version has the same very complete control panel as the standard version, with many potentiometers to adjust the bass, midrange and reverberations of the different sources. On this point, we are entitled to two TRS/XLR combos, an AUX socket and Bluetooth 5.0 as well as two USB sockets used solely for charging a mobile device.

Another similarity, the SumoBox Pro inherits the removable battery from its little sister, which allows it to emit 8 hours of music (compared to 10 hours with the SumoBox). On battery or mains, the SumoBox Pro promises increased versatility, especially since it is IPX4 certified for outdoor use.

Price and availability

Already available for professionals who want to equip themselves, the SumoBox Pro is obviously a little more expensive than the standard model. It will cost €599 to purchase it, to which it is possible to add a few tickets to get an additional set of batteries.
