With Bettorp, a new night lamp from Ikea is now available. The LED light can not only be dimmed, but also offers a practical charging function for mobile phones and other devices. These can be supplied with power wirelessly overnight according to the Qi standard. But the lamp can do even more.
Ikea Bettorp: LED night lamp charges smartphones
Ikea has introduced a new night lamp and immediately put it on sale. The special lamp is available in the online shop and in furniture stores, even if only in one colour. Unlike traditional lamps of this type, Bettorp features the same about two peculiarities.
It comes with a loading area over which, for example Smartphones or headphones charged wirelessly according to the Qi standard can become. Two charging coils are used so that two devices can be supplied with power at the same time. Ikea has not revealed how high the charging capacity is in each case. Bettorp does not have a USB port, so it must be charged wirelessly.
As a further special feature, the lamp itself can be removed from the charging plate and placed anywhere in the room will. Since Ikea has found space for batteries, the lamp is not tied to a cable. Four AA batteries are used, which are not included.
Bettorp is made of plastic, the base is made of rubber. The dimmable LED light source is permanently installed and accordingly cannot be easily exchanged. According to Ikea, the shelf life is around 25,000 hours or 25 years if the lamp is left on for three hours a day.
