Ile-de-France reduces its aid to condominiums

The service offered by Ile-de-France Energies was invaluable for any condominium with more than 50 lots that wanted to start energy renovation work. This semi-public company (SEM), created in 2013 by the region, offered unique assistance, from auditing to site monitoring, including support that made it possible to navigate through the jumble of aids. Loans allowed even the oldest to follow at a lower cost. At the end of the operation, consumption was, on average, halved.

Over the past five years, some 4,000 housing units in Ile-de-France have been extensively renovated using this system. The subject becoming more significant, “demand exploded in 2021”, notes Raphaël Claustre, who was director of the company for six years, but will no longer be in a few days. He has resigned since the Supervisory Board decided on December 14 to give SEM a completely different direction.

” A shame ! »

“Ile-de-France Energies announces its merger with Ile-de-France Investissements et Territoires and its desire to refocus its action on tertiary buildings”, says a press release. ” IDF Energies has been trying to find profitability for ten years, but it has not been the case”, justifies Olivier Pagezy, the director of the SEM specializing in business real estate, and now chairman of the management board of IDF Energies. “Despite the new standards, the time to convince condominiums has not been reduced. In the tertiary sector, we will have to deal with professional project owners”, adds the one who was also the director of the cabinet of Valérie Pécresse, when the president of the region was minister of higher education.

” A shame !!! In the midst of an energy crisis, the region (…) cuts the resources allocated to the energy renovation of housing”, reacted, on Twitter, Anne Bringault, coordinator at the Climate Action Network. ” It is dramatic for the climate, fuel poverty and life in the region”, abounds the consultant Nicolas Goldberg. In Ile-de-France, residential represents 39% of energy consumption (29% for the tertiary sector). In October, the Paris Region Institute warned that “without energy renovation work near of one out of two accommodation in the Ile-de-France region [sera] soon to be banned for rent »the private rental stock being particularly affected.

“Individuals will be helped by subsidies”, and banks, assures Olivier Pagezy. In Paris, the information meetings on the condominium aid system are always full. As part of its climate plan, the city aims to devote 200 million euros per year to private communities, within five to ten years. But, for the time being, she is one of the only ones to do so.
