Ile-de-France transport users will be compensated

A “compensation campaign” transport users in Ile-de-France whose journeys were disrupted by strikes during the conflict against the pension reform, will open on July 5, announced Wednesday June 28 Ile-de-France Mobilités (IDFM). “Twenty-nine branches suffered, at least one day, a service lower than 33%”or below the minimum service threshold, said IDFM in a press release.

The social conflict against the pension reform, which took place between January and the beginning of June, resulted in fourteen days of interprofessional strike. A renewable strike was also launched on March 7 by the SNCF unions.

The contracts entered into by IDFM with the transport operators (SNCF and RATP) oblige the latter to compensate the users concerned up to one-thirtieth of the monthly fixed price for each day below the minimum service, namely “2.8 euros per day for a [passe] Navigo month all areas”.

Two million eligible users

Each user whose line was disrupted between one and three days of the strike will automatically receive 10 euros in compensation.

From four days of strike, “the subscribers concerned will receive 2.8 euros in reimbursement per day (…) to which are added an additional 10 euros to compensate for the hardship suffered by the Ile-de-France residents.says IDFM.

“For a monthly or annual all-zone Navigo pass, the reimbursement will therefore be between 21.2 euros and 94 euros, depending on the branches. For other eligible packages, the amount will be calculated proportionally and according to the zones.specifies IDFM.

The lines whose service failed during the strikes are all operated by the SNCF. These are the RER C, D, E and the Transilien lines H, J, K, L, N, P and R.

Users of line R on the branch between Montereau and Melun, for example, suffered thirty days below the minimum service threshold for the duration of the social movement.

IDFM ensures that two million users are eligible for reimbursement. The platform will remain open until August 2 inclusive.
