DECRYPTION – Île-de-France Mobilités is looking for 450 million euros to complete its annual budget. Without state aid, a sharp increase in the Navigo pass is almost inevitable.
The small blue card which opens the door to metros, trains and buses could see its price soar from 75.20 euros to 100 euros, at the start of 2023. And this, despite the grumbling of Ile-de-France residents. For several days, the Ile-de-France authorities have been banging their fists on the table, warning of an upcoming increase in the Navigo pass bill.
In an interview with Le Parisien, Valérie Pécresse, patroness of the region, thus called on the State to be responsible: “There are three funders for public transport: local authorities; companies, via the mobility payment voted by Parliament, which IDF Mobilités cannot therefore increase without the agreement of the government; and travelers“, recalled the chosen one. However, filling the holes facing the RATP “would mean increasing the Navigo pass to 100 euros“, a prospect that could be avoided, provided that “the state […] stop kidding us“.
