This Monday, November 7, the schedules of the Val-de-Seine high school in Grand-Quevilly, near Rouen, have been turned upside down. The reason ? The teachers canceled their lessons in the morning and mobilized to support a seriously threatened colleague.
French national education has once again been affected. This time, it happened at Val-de-Seine high school in Grand-Quevilly, near Rouen. A serious reason pushed the teachers canceled their lessons of this Monday, November 7 morning.
The latter were in a crisis meeting in the presence of the inspection of the academy. The reason for this gathering? A teacher would have suffered violent verbal aggression from a parent. This would have happened on Thursday, October 20, before the school holidays. Following this, the teachers therefore canceled their back-to-school classes until 10:15 a.m. to meet urgently.
The professor was allegedly threatened with death
The professor in question, still in shock and on sick leave since because of his too fragile psychological state, agreed to testify: “It was 5 p.m., we were in a parent-teacher meeting. While waiting for the next meeting, I was correcting my papers and at one point, I saw a burly man coming towards me and saying to me ‘What do you have against my daughter ?'”he declares before explaining that this 16-year-old student suffers from dyslexia, which the professor did not know. He usually places the students in alphabetical order in his class, and the girl’s name ending in Z, she was placed at the back of the room. The latter therefore had difficulty following, the student’s parent had thus warned the teacher who had then changed his place.
What’s next after this ad
The teacher continued his testimony by quoting the very aggressive parent: “You take my daughter for shit, you talk badly to your students.” Another teacher then intervened to try to calm him down. The teacher resumes: “Before leaving the room, he points at me and yells: ‘If you keep it up with my girl, I’m gonna knock your head off !’ He was furious, his gaze was threatening, I took it very seriously!”he said, before continuing: “I don’t want to be a second Samuel Paty. I can’t see myself returning to this establishment. I asked the rectorate to change positions to protect me.”
A complaint was filed and, according to information from France 3, the threatening parent was interviewed by the police.
