Illegal action – cell phone recordings show US teacher vaccinating students

Lauren Parker Russo (54) is a teacher at a school in New York State. She does not have a medical license. Still, she recently stepped into action and vaccinated one of her students against the coronavirus. And not only that: She is said to have used the Johnson & Johnson vaccine for her “deed”, but this is not recommended for people under 18 in the USA. Video recordings of the action were made public. Russo now has to answer for her act in court.

The US broadcaster NBC reported on the case for the first time. The vaccination campaign did not take place on the school premises, but in a private house. It is not clear whether the vaccination was consensual, as the “Bild” newspaper writes. The 17-year-old student, who is friends with the teacher’s son, is said to have initially asked for the vaccination. When Russo took action, she said: “That’s how it works, vaccine for the home. That will work. “

How Russo got the vaccine is unclear, the police said. The school management of Herricks High School on Long Island has meanwhile taken her leave of absence. If she is convicted for her actions, she faces up to four years imprisonment.
