Lots of horsepower and lots of ego! On Friday, shortly after 10 p.m., two drivers had an illegal race in Konstanz (D). A white AMG Mercedes with a Constance license plate and a dark BMW with a Thurgau license plate drove at high speed from Zähringerplatz in the direction of Wollmatinger Strasse.
They stopped at the red light and waited. When the traffic light finally turned green, both handlebars really hit the gas. At the same time a large group of people were crossing the street at the level of the Fürstenbergstrasse 127 building when the two cars raced up.
Plainclothes cops were nearby
“In order not to be caught by the vehicles, the people had to jump to the side,” as the German police said. Coincidentally, a civil police patrol was able to observe the illegal race, which then took down the license plates of the cars.
Shortly afterwards, the AMG-Mercedes was stopped and subjected to an inspection. The driver’s license of the 25-year-old driver was confiscated on the spot by order of the public prosecutor’s office. Proceedings were initiated against the two vehicle drivers for participating in a prohibited motor vehicle race. (jmh)
