On October 16, Amouranth, star of Twitch with its 6 million followers, revealed that she had a husband who abused her. Supporting evidence, a phone call and text messages from her husband containing various threats. Two days later, real name Kaitlyn Siragusa, returned to her channel and explained that she was finally “free” from her husband and was going to have a fresh start with her content.
Amouranth has since resumed her streams as normal, and she recently used his personal Twitter account (on behalf of Kaitlyn therefore) to explain her new approach.
“I’ve cleaned things up and moving forward by prioritizing hires that have strong cultural compatibility and align with my values. I will be reaching out to Real Work customers and staff today and tomorrow to find the way forward!I intend to pursue all the projects I have committed to before…I think there is a certain level of continuity to reflect, to heal, to find my bearings and to determine the way forward.”
Real Work gets a makeover
“I think I also owe it to industry partners, fellow creators and the remaining team I’ve chosen to get things done. There will be some personnel changes that will reflect my new priorities and direction. In many ways, I feel invigorated…I will be reaching out to everyone I have plans with tomorrow!Some touchpoints will change, but I have always kept a strong pipeline of talented employees and will continue to use the best person available for each role.” she continues on her Twitter thread.
