“I’m not going to give him advice”: Rafael Nadal dad for the first time, Novak Djokovic reacts

It’s a birth that we’ve been waiting for for a while now and on October 8th the good news finally arrived. Rafael Nadal and his wife Xisca Perello have become parents for the very first time to a baby boy born at a private clinic in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. “The mother and her baby, born in the 37th week of pregnancy, are doing well”said a source close to the couple to the Spanish newspaper Diario de Mallorca. If we do not yet know much about the little boy and we do not know his name, the millions of fans of the 36-year-old tennis player were delighted with this superb news which comes at the right time after a completely crazy year. .

While many said he was lost to sport, Rafael Nadal showed all his courage and mental strength to seek two new Grand Slam titles, in Melbourne and Paris. A season that echoes that of its great rival Novak Djokovic, who had a very special year, unable to participate in many tournaments due to the health crisis, he who always refused to be vaccinated against Covid. Despite everything, he managed to win Wimbledon and we saw him recently in London for the last tournament of Roger Federer’s career, during an emotionally charged event.

This is great news. I wish his wife and baby much health and happiness

If Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are not the best of friends, the respect is immense between the two tennis legends and when a journalist reports the news of the birth of the Spaniard’s son to the 35-year-old player, the latter seems very happy for him. “Congratulations! I didn’t know. Really? This is great news. I wish his wife and baby much health and happiness.”he reacts in a press conference during the ATP 500 tournament in Nur‐Sultan (Kazakhstan), before releasing a little joke of which he has the secret: “As a father, I’m not going to give him advice (smile). He has a big family. I’m sure he will experience it himself (smile)”.

A beautiful statement from Novak Djokovic, already the father of two children (Stefan and Tara) with his wife Jelena, and who wishes Rafael Nadal all the happiness in the world in this new adventure!
