“I’m struggling”: the season of Buffy that Sarah Michelle Gellar can no longer watch

Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar recently revealed she can no longer watch the sixth season of ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’, the show that brought her fame.

Broadcast between 1997 and 2003, the series Buffy against the vampires brought glory to its main actress, the American Sarah Michelle Gellar. But today there is a very specific season of the fantasy show that she can no longer watch.

During the pandemic, Sarah Michelle Gellar saw Buffy the Vampire Slayer again, and for the first time in the company of her two children, a 13-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy born from her union with Freddie Prinze Jr. An experience that has disturbed the actress.

“We watched the entire first five seasons but we skipped a lot of passages in the last two”says Sarah Michelle Gellar in a recent interview granted to The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m struggling with season six. It wasn’t appropriate for my kids at the time, and I just don’t want to see her again.”

In the sixth season of Buffy, the heroine suffers from depression and finds comfort in having sex with the vampire Spike (James Marsters). The latter will later try to rape her when she decides to leave him.
