(CercleFinance.com) – Imerys announced Thursday the creation of a new division dedicated to the energy transition, which the mineral producer considers as a ‘key relay’ for its growth.
The solutions for energy transition (SET) branch is notably called upon to accommodate the graphite and carbon black production activities, which mainly serve the mobile energy market.
It is also expected to include Imerys’ stake in ‘The Quartz Corp’ (TQC), a 50%-owned joint venture that supplies the solar panel and semiconductor markets with high-purity quartz.
It is also planned that the branch will eventually integrate the contributions of its lithium projects.
In addition to this new entity, the Imerys organization will be structured around two other businesses, the first being that of performance minerals intended for the plastics, paint and coatings, filtration and life sciences markets. , ceramics and construction products.
Added to this structure is that of solutions for refractories, abrasives and constructions (RAC) which notably serves the foundry, abrasives and construction chemicals sectors.
