Jordan Bardella, president of the National Rally and MEP, was the guest of Europe 1 on Monday. Freshly elected leader of the party, the Regional Councilor of Ile-de-France returned to the management of the Ocean Viking, the ship of the NGO SOS Mediterranean which docked in early November in Toulon, with on board, 234 migrants.

It is a ship that has caused a lot of ink to flow. After two weeks at sea, the boat of the NGO SOS Mediterranean Ocean Viking was able to dock in the military port of Toulon. On board, 234 migrants (including 4 helicoptered in emergency before arriving in Toulon) rescued at sea. “It was a matter of life or death”, explained in mid-November on Europe 1 the Minister of Transport Clément Beaune , emphasizing, in the same way as the left, that it was unthinkable to let people die at sea.

A migration policy “decided at sea”

Asked about the issue, Jordan Bardella regrets that “immigration policy in France and Europe is no longer decided in Paris, at the Ministry of the Interior, but from the sea, by NGOs who are human traffickers .”

To come to the aid of France in the face of the arrival of these migrants, eleven European countries have announced that they are “taking their part”. The objective is to distribute the new arrivals on European soil as well as possible. But the president of the National Rally, deplores that “the peoples and the French”, are never consulted on the subject.

Take an example from others

“I think in principle that France is not intended to be the country of everyone, at the risk of being tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, the country of no one. So it takes a turn of the screw”, warns the deputy European, taking the example of Denmark. The social democratic government of the small Scandinavian country is particularly tough on the migration issue, for example by limiting the number of immigrants per district. And the country wants to go further by relocating asylum seekers to Rwanda, like the British project.

“There are countries that manage to control immigration.” Because for the president of the National Rally, “immigration is one of the greatest challenges facing our continent in the coming years. I remind you that African demography will double by 2050. And like the book The scramble for Europe by Stephen Smith, this is probably what awaits us if we do not take back control of our destiny now”, concludes Jordan Bardella.
