However, there are four things that can quickly annoy the hotel staff.
1. Negotiate prices when checking in
It starts when you check in: When you book a room, you pay the price stated on your booking. If you have found a better offer recently, this price cannot be transferred to your booking – even the reception staff cannot help with this.
In addition, most employees are not authorized to negotiate overnight prices with you. Save yourself and the hotel staff from unpleasant situations and compare prices beforehand.
2. Getting upset about something that is missing
When you checked into your room, did you expect a bedtime treat and a hairdryer in the bathroom, but are left with nothing? Now it’s time to take a deep breath. Anyone who complains loudly about missing things will not make friends in the hotel.
If something has been forgotten, remember that only people work in the hotel – and the hotel staff can also be forgiven for making mistakes. Next time, you should also take a closer look when booking to see whether there really is a hairdryer waiting for you in the bathroom or whether you need to bring your own.
3. Take food to your room
Why eat in a crowded dining room when it’s more comfortable in bed? That’s not a good idea. It is not only disgusting, but also unhygienic to spread food and leftovers in the hallway or in the room. So it’s not appropriate to bring food from restaurants and dining rooms into your room – and secretly taking snacks with you is also not welcome.
If you really want to eat in your room, ask kindly at reception next time whether room service allows you to have a meal outside the dining room.
4. Let the bathrobe go with you
No matter how fluffy the towels and bathrobes are, hotel property must remain in the hotel.
Plugging something in secret never works well for long. You will be charged for everything stolen after your departure at the latest. In addition, theft will also make you a criminal offense and, in extreme cases, you may even be banned from the premises.
