In Bad Eisenkappel – Koschlak via ferrata was officially inaugurated

As a pleasant addition to the legendary Türkenkopf via ferrata, another route was built in the climatic health resort, as reported, and has now been officially inaugurated. The easier Koschlak via ferrata runs right next to the Türkenkopf and is reminiscent of a very special Lower Carinthian mountain rescuer.

“The climb is intended to commemorate the mountain rescuer Christian Koschlak, who died last year and who was the lead coordinator of the via ferrata and climbing garden projects in Eisenkappel,” says UNESCO Geopark Manager Gerald Hartmann.

There used to be a lagoon here
The Koschlak memorial trail runs over numerous steep rock steps: “It is exciting that there used to be a sea lagoon along the one-hour route. There are visible structures. ”The highlights for climbing fans are the Nepal bridge and a cave opening. If you still have strength, you can try the variant at the cave. “Our new attraction is an enrichment for the entire region,” said Hartmann. At the entrance next to the parking lot, there is also a practice trail in addition to the difficult Turkenkopf route.
