Netanyahu feels “dizzy” – examination in hospital

Chest pain and a little dizzy: Israel’s prime minister is hospitalized because he is unwell. According to the information, initial investigations show that the 73-year-old probably drank too little.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been taken to a hospital. The 73-year-old is in good shape, but is being medically examined, his office said. He felt “dizzy”. According to initial studies, Netanyahu is probably dehydrated after a long stay in the heat in northern Israel, but overall “in good shape”. The Israeli media said there were no talks about Netanyahu having to hand over his official duties.

Channel 12, citing Netanyahu’s doctor, reported that the prime minister was taken to the hospital fully conscious and walked to the emergency room. Netanyahu had previously complained of chest pains. He was last briefly hospitalized in October.

Netanyahu was elected head of government last year at the head of a right-wing religious coalition – after he had previously ruled for twelve years in a row until 2021. There have been protests against him for months, mainly because of a planned judicial reform. In addition, his opponents are demanding the resignation of the 73-year-old because a court case is pending against him for corruption.

Netanyahu had already spent one night in the hospital last October. According to official information, he had felt uncomfortable during the fast on the occasion of Yom Kippur, the highest Jewish holiday.
