A week after the Iranian strikes in Israel, Iranian Jews living in the Jewish state are following the situation closely. In a small studio, Rani Amrani, an Iranian Jew, runs a web radio station to describe Israeli and world news to an Iranian audience in Persian.
More than a week after the Iranian strikes in Israel, the situation is being followed very closely by these Jews born in Iran, numbering 20,000 living in the Hebrew state. The majority came to settle there after the Islamic revolution. Rani Amrani follows the situation, but also comments on it and intends to thwart the Iranian regime’s propaganda. The man runs a small internet radio station. In her small studio on the heights of Jerusalem, Rani goes on air every day and speaks in Persian, her native language, from Israel, her host country.
“Iran is like my mother and Israel is like my father. And at the moment, I feel like a child whose parents are arguing,” he explains to Europe 1. broadcast, the tone is sharp, the topics are hot and focused on politics. “We talk a lot about Israeli and European news. And we decipher it in Persian so that Iranians understand what is really happening outside Iran, and not what the Mullahs’ regime is trying to make them believe , who lies to the people every day,” he explains.
Calls for peace
The host and his colleagues reach nearly 9 million people on their various applications. They obviously decipher recent tensions, with their perspectives as Iranian Jews. Rani Amrani is even regularly invited on Israeli TV sets. “That’s important too! Try to explain to the Israelis what the Iranians think, to tell them that we are not all their enemies, but that the regime is their real enemy,” insists the man.
Rani also multiplies calls for peace, he who dreams of seeing Iran again one day. A dream that can only come true once the Mullahs leave power.
