In open terrain – young people injured in skiing accidents on the Nordkette

There were two skiing accidents on Saturday on the Nordkette in the open terrain. In the morning, a 16-year-old fell and injured his thigh. Shortly after noon, a 17-year-old crashed into a tree and broke his nose. Both were brought to the Innsbruck clinic.

The first accident occurred at 10.55 a.m. A 16-year-old and a 14-year-old drove from the Seegrube in the open terrain in deep snow towards the valley station. “The 16-year-old probably fell because of the deep, fresh snow, broke off his ski stick and rammed it into his right thigh,” the police said. After the first aid, the injured was brought down to the valley by train and subsequently transported to the clinic by ambulance service. Hit a tree The second accident occurred around 12.30 p.m. A 17-year-old also drove downhill in open terrain. “His face hit a tree during the descent, resulting in a broken nose.” The young person was able to take the train to the Hungerburg independently, from where he was brought with the ambulance to the Innsbruck clinic for a more detailed examination.
