In Salzburg – Kyocera closes location: 70 employees without jobs

Kyocera AVX has announced the closure of its production site in Salzburg, which will result in the layoff of around 70 employees.

Around 70 employees will lose their jobs as a result of the site closure. The PRO-GE union criticizes the decision as hasty and driven by greed for profit. There was already a reduction in personnel in 2022, which was sold as a measure to secure the location. The social plan is currently being negotiated with the works council, while the machine relocation is scheduled to take place in the next few months. The union demands that no obstacles be placed in the way of the employees and that the value of the location is recognized by the owners. Kyocera AVX in Salzburg currently employs around 180 people and specializes in the production of control units, electronic pumps and LED modules for the automotive industry.
