In Salzburg – the unemployment rate drops to 2.8 percent

Salzburg’s job market recovered strongly in July. In the inner mountains, the unemployment figures fell even more than in the central area.

Good news is coming from the Salzburg labor market these days: 8,102 people were registered as unemployed at the end of July. That is 2111 or 20.7 percent less than in July of the previous year. This puts the unemployment rate at 2.8 percent. Across Austria, the number was only lower in Tyrol (2.7 percent). In the inner mountains, the numbers fell even more than in the central area. In Pongau, for example, 809 people were unemployed (minus 27.1 percent); in Pinzgau there were 771 people (minus 26.6 percent). The numbers fell sharply, especially in accommodation and gastronomy, in trade and in transport.
