In Seiersberg – Steirer sold meat without control for 30 years

As early as December 2021, an inspection found that pigs had been slaughtered without the necessary examination and the meat was resold. Detectives have now discovered that this has been the case for 30 years. Two men (65, 53) and a woman (50) in Seiersberg (Styria) were reported for fraud.

Pigs and their meat must be officially examined before and after slaughter so that the meat can then be sold on. Two men (65, 53) and a woman (50) from Seiersberg (Graz area) did not take this necessary food inspection too seriously. This was already determined during a veterinary check in December 2021. The suspects received a complaint and the police are investigating further. The criminalists found out that the 65-year-old had been doing this for 30 years. It cannot be ruled out that the meat was unfit for human consumption! Among other things, the suspects are reported to the public prosecutor’s office in Graz for serious commercial fraud.
