Presenter Anna Kraft switches to TVNOW

Mediengruppe RTL is strengthening its team for the UEFA Europa League and the new Conference League: Anna Kraft will host the European Football Cup. The 35-year-old is not working for RTL for the first time and indicates that it does not have to stop at sports.

Anna Kraft will work as a soccer presenter for the streaming service TVNOW. The 35-year-old journalist will be used for broadcasts of the UEFA Europa League and the new Europa Conference League, as announced by Mediengruppe RTL. Kraft also continues to work for the special-interest broadcaster Eurosport, for which she is currently involved in the Olympics and then in the women’s Bundesliga.

“I have been following sport on RTL for years as an enthusiastic viewer, and it is wonderful to be able to help shape it now,” Kraft is quoted in the message: “I am very much looking forward to working with RTL. In sport and beyond.” RTL News managing director Stephan Schmitter was delighted, because “Anna Kraft not only impresses with her football expertise, but above all with her authenticity and positive charisma”.

Laura Papendick moderates the European Cup broadcasts on RTL and Nitro. The 32-year-old comes from Sky and is the successor to Laura Wontorra, who is switching to the DAZN streaming service. The RTL Group has secured an extensive package of European Cup rights from UEFA and will be broadcasting on RTL, Nitro and TVNOW from September.

Before moving to Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland, the former athlete was a presenter at Eurosport. Kraft began her journalistic career in 2010 in the “ran” editorial team at Sat.1. She then worked as a presenter for Sky Sport News HD and Sport1. In 2015, the 35-year-old switched to ZDF, where she reported, among other things, live from major sporting events. The sports journalist was already active for RTL in 2017 and 2018 as a reporter for “Mario Barth covers up”.
