In the palliative care ward – sweet furry friends give joy to the seriously ill

Eight hours a month
“Honey” and “Coffee” always alternate on their weekly visits. So that the furry friends are not overwhelmed, their important assignments must not last longer than eight hours a month. “The dogs are an asset to the station. They offer our patients good, pleasant physical contact,” says David Fuchs, head of the palliative care ward. “You will notice within the first few minutes whether contact is desired or not. Dogs create connections and open a door to patients,” says Raab.
