A Viennese surgeon has been charged with fivefold negligent homicide. The doctor is accused of not treating “lege artis” and thus causing the death of five patients.
The serious allegations against the surgeon were made by a former colleague who filed charges, as the Vienna public prosecutor’s office confirmed to the APA. The doctor is said to have carried out interventions that ultimately led to death in five of his patients – all of whom are cancer patients, it is said. There is also talk of incorrect treatment. Another patient is said to have suffered serious consequential damage.
